We’re Glad You’re Considering Visiting
Visiting a new church can feel a little intimidating. You may wonder: What will it be like? What do I do? Will I fit in? At Halfmoon Church of Christ, we want your visit to be welcoming, comfortable, and meaningful.
When & Where
- Bible Class – Sundays at 9:30 AM
- Worship Assembly – Sundays at 10:30 AM (about 60–70 minutes)
- Other Bible Studies – We also gather at various times during the week for study and fellowship.
📍 Halfmoon Church of Christ
250 Pruyn Hill Road, Mechanicville, NY 12118
- Expect a warm welcome and friendly faces to help you find your way.
- No assigned seating — sit wherever you feel most comfortable.
- Dress is casual to business casual. Some wear jeans, others wear dress clothes. Wear what helps you feel comfortable and respectful.
Our assemblies are simple, focused, and centered on God. A typical Sunday includes:
- Singing – We sing acapella (without instruments), lifting our voices together in praise.
- Prayer – Several prayers are offered throughout the service, thanking God and seeking His guidance.
- Scripture Reading – God’s Word is read aloud to shape and guide our worship.
- Sermon – A biblical, practical message designed to help us grow in faith and live as followers of Jesus.
- Communion (Lord’s Supper) – Every Sunday, we remember Christ’s sacrifice by sharing bread and cup, following the example of the early church.
- Offering – Members contribute to the work of the church. Visitors are not expected or pressured to give — your presence is the gift we value most.
- Bible classes for children and youth are offered during the 9:30 AM Bible class hour.
- For parents with infants or toddlers, space is available if you need to step out with your child.
- Children are always welcome in the worship assembly — we’re glad to have them with us!
- First Sunday Potluck – On the first Sunday of every month, we share a potluck meal (a meal where everyone brings a dish to share). It’s a relaxed time to eat together, meet people, and build community. If you’re visiting on a first Sunday, don’t worry about bringing anything — you are our guest, and we simply want you to stay and enjoy the meal with us.
- Fifth Sunday Prayer Service – When a month has five Sundays, we dedicate the morning assembly to prayer. Instead of a formal sermon, we spend extended time in community-guided prayer for one another, our neighbors, and the world.
- You won’t be singled out or asked to introduce yourself publicly.
- You won’t be pressured to give money.
- You’re free to simply observe or participate as you feel comfortable.
We’d love to meet you! Many people stay afterward to visit, ask questions, or just get to know one another. If you’d like to learn more about our beliefs or ministries, let us know — someone will be happy to connect with you.

How can we
Help you on
your walk
with God?
We’re here for you—no judgment, no pressure. Whether you’re growing stronger in faith, facing doubts, feeling stuck, or just need some encouragement along the way, we’d love to walk alongside you.

Curious
About God
but Unsure
About
Church?
That’s completely okay — and more common than you might think. Many people are curious about God, Jesus, the Bible, or faith, but they have questions, doubts, or past experiences that make them hesitant about church. If that’s where you are right now, you’re in a safe and welcome place.
There is no pressure here. You don’t need to believe anything specific, attend services, or have everything figured out. We simply want to listen, answer honestly, and help you explore at your own pace.
