Before the Psalms were studied, they were sung. Before they were explained, they were prayed. They were the words of worshipers, sufferers, sinners, kings, pilgrims, and ordinary people learning to bring their whole lives before God.
This summer, we will enter the Psalms as the prayers, praises, cries, confessions, and testimonies of God’s people and we will listen for the voice of Jesus within them. Each week, different men from our congregation will lead us through a chosen Psalm by asking three simple questions: What does the text say? What does this Psalm mean to me? And where do I see Jesus in it? These shorter reflections will give us the opportunity not only to hear the Psalms explained, but also to hear how God’s Word has met real people in real life.
The Psalms teach us how to pray when we are joyful and when we are grieving, when we are confident and when we are afraid, when we are grateful and when we are waiting. And as followers of Jesus, we believe these ancient songs ultimately lead us to Him — the true King, the faithful Shepherd, the suffering Righteous One, and the risen Lord who teaches us to pray, worship, trust, and hope.
Join us this summer as we learn to pray more honestly, worship more deeply, and see Jesus more clearly in the Psalms.

Reading and Reflection Guide
Jesus in the Psalms: Reading & Reflection Guide is a simple summer companion to our sermon series designed to help the whole church read, pray, and reflect through the Psalms together. From June 1 through August 31, this guide invites us into a steady rhythm of Scripture using four simple movements: Read, Reflect, Pray, and Practice. Each day, we will listen to a Psalm, consider what it reveals about God and our own lives, turn it into prayer, and carry one simple response into the day. Along the way, we will also learn to look for Jesus in the Psalms as the true King, Shepherd, Sufferer, Refuge, and Righteous One who leads us deeper into the heart of God.
